Trans Bharat Aviation (“TBA”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://transbharat.in (“Website”) to improve your browsing experience, analyze site traffic, and deliver personalized content and advertisements in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, your rights regarding their use, and how to manage your cookie preferences.

1. What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or other) when you visit a website. They help the website recognize your device, remember your preferences, and perform certain functions.

2. Types of Cookies We Use (DPDP Section 5(1) Compliant)

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies Always On

Purpose: Essential for website functionality and security.

Examples Session authentication tokens (login), CSRF protection, Form data preservation, Language preference (session only), Payment gateway security.
Data Collected Session ID, User authentication status.
Retention Session duration (deleted when browser closes).
Legal Basis Legitimate interest (functionality).

Cannot be disabled without breaking the website.

2.2 Performance & Analytics Cookies Off by Default

Provider: Google Analytics. Purpose: Understand how visitors use our site and improve performance.

Examples Page views, time on page, bounce rate, device type, traffic sources, user location.
Data Collected IP address (anonymized), Device identifiers, Browsing behavior.
Retention 26 months (configurable).

2.3 Functional Cookies Off by Default

Purpose: Remember your preferences and provide personalized features.

Examples Language selection, Booking preferences, Interface preferences.
Data Collected Selected preferences, Booking/Search history, Form data.
Retention 1 year or until cleared.
Legal Basis Explicit Consent.
2.4 Targeting & Advertising Cookies Off by Default

Providers: Google Ads, Facebook Pixel. Purpose: Track browsing habits to show relevant ads.

Examples Products/routes searched, Conversion tracking.
Data Collected Browsing history, Interests, Device info, Demographics.
Retention 90 days to 2 years.
Legal Basis Explicit Consent.

2.5 Social Media Cookies Off by Default

Providers: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn. Purpose: Enable social sharing buttons and embedded content.

Data Collected Social media account ID, Interactions with content.
Note Even without cookies enabled, embedded social content may collect data per their policies.

3. Third-Party Cookies & Data Processing (DPDP Section 4(e), 8)

3.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party services that set cookies on your device. Each has its own privacy policy:

3.2 Data Processing Agreements (DPDP Section 8)

All third-party service providers are bound by Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) that ensure:

  • ✓ Data is processed only on our instructions
  • ✓ Data is protected with reasonable security safeguards
  • ✓ Data is not shared with other parties without our consent
  • ✓ Data is deleted when processing is complete (or retained only as required by law)

3.3 Cross-Border Data Transfers

For third-party services located in the USA (Google, Facebook, PayPal), we use:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): Contractual safeguards equivalent to DPDP requirements.
  • Encryption: Data encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Limited Processing: Data processed only for stated purposes.

3.4 Your Right to Know Sub-Processors

If any third-party service uses sub-processors, you have the right to be notified, object within 30 days, and request details. For current sub-processor lists, contact: grievance.data@transbharat.in.

4. Cookie Consent & Withdrawal (DPDP Section 5(1), 10(e))

4.1 How We Obtain Your Consent

Cookie Consent Banner: When you first visit our website, a banner allows you to:

  • Accept All: Enable all cookies
  • Reject All: Disable non-essential cookies
  • Customize: Choose which cookie types to enable

Default Behavior: Necessary cookies are ON. Analytics, Functional, and Advertising cookies are OFF until you opt-in.

Consent Recording (DPDP Section 11): We record what you accepted, the timestamp, your device ID/IP (for verification), and language preference to prove informed consent.

4.2 Managing Your Cookie Preferences

Via Cookie Settings (Recommended):

  1. Visit any page on our website.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and click the “Cookie Settings” link.
  3. Adjust your preferences for each cookie type.
  4. Click “Save Preferences” to apply immediately.

4.3 Withdrawing Your Consent

You can withdraw cookie consent at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link. Toggle OFF the cookie types you want to disable and click Save. This affects future visits but does not delete previously collected data.

Note: Withdrawing consent does NOT delete cookies already on your device. To delete existing cookies, use your browser settings (see Section 5).

5. How to Control or Delete Cookies (Browser Settings)

You may disable cookies at any time; however, certain parts of our website may become inaccessible. You have two main options:

5.1 Option 1: Our Cookie Settings (Easiest)

Visit any page on our website and click “Cookie Settings” in the footer. This affects only our website and requires no technical knowledge.

5.2 Option 2: Browser Settings (Advanced)

This affects cookies from ALL websites. WARNING: Disabling necessary cookies may break website functionality.
